About Annie presents: Empire Records

To celebrate our friend Anne-Marie (Annie) Kelly's birthday who sadly passed away at the end of 2016, a group of us have arranged a showing of one of her favourite films in one of her favourite places.

Empire Records (1995) is a cult classic featuring early roles for Liv Tyler, Renée Zellweger and Robin Tunney. It's the film that introduced us all to Rex Manning day and encouraged us to "Damn The Man, Save The Empire!".

The Electric Cinema is one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in the country. Built in 1910, it has been in almost continuous use since it's opening and features Edwardian style interiors and very very comfy seats. Annie regularly visited, frequently posting photos of her feet up on the footrests, waiting for the latest feature to start.

We've hired out the whole cinema for this exclusive showing of a much-loved film. All proceeds from ticket sales (including Ticketlab booking fees) after recouping hiring costs will be split equally between BBC Children in Need and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
