About Star Gazing - Beginner's Guide

Stargazing at Walthamstow Wetlands will be an introduction to appreciating the night sky and all its wonders. It will cover a beginner’s guide to the night sky, back garden stargazing, simple equipment and understanding what you see when you just look up! Led by local enthusiasts from Stow Stargazers, the workshop will be held in the locally-listed Engine House at Walthamstow Wetlands, Europe’s largest urban wetland nature reserve. At 211 hectares large. Walthamstow Wetlands provides a unique opportunity to star gaze away from some of the light pollution so often found in large urban cities. The workshop will also include an after-hours walk (approximately 45 minutes) through the reserve to try star gazing first hand. There will be practical guidance and tips throughout the evening with plenty of opportunities to see the sights.
