About Mindfulness Morning Introductory Workshop
This 3-hour morning workshop will offer an introduction to what mindfulness is, why we need it in today's fast-paced world, and how it can help our relationship towards stress and difficulty.
The workshop is mainly experiential. There will be some background theory and information on the neuroscience behind mindfulness, what it is used for, and where you can find out more, but mainly the time will be spent experiencing some of the practices in a relaxed and friendly setting, including:
- Mindful eating
- Mindful breathing
- Bodyscan practice
- Mindful movement
All of the practices will be guided, and so you don’t need to do anything in advance of the session.
Ruth Ormston from Calm City Mind will run the session. Ruth has run a number of public and workplace mindfulness courses and sessions, and is passionate about introducing people to mindfulness as a potential resource to manage well-being.
