About Breast cancer - how to reduce your risk naturally
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, and 1 woman in 8 will be diagnosed in her lifetime. Breast cancer incidence rates in UK women have risen by 25% since 1990 – such a fast increase is not driven by genetics, but by environmental factors.
Join Carolyn Axtell, a breast cancer survivor and researcher, and Joan Faria, a breast cancer survivor and registered nutritional therapist, to explore some of the underlying factors behind breast cancer. Learn how to implement powerful breast cancer prevention strategies by making simple, evidence-based changes to your diet and lifestyle. You will learn about the impact of food choices, cooking methods, plastics, cleaning products, toiletries, stress and gut health on how your body handles oestrogen. You will leave feeling empowered to influence your health in a positive way!
Joan is a registered nutritional therapist with a special interest in cancer prevention and support. Her own breast cancer diagnosis lead her to radically change her diet and lifestyle and to retrain as a nutritional therapist. She has clinics in Wanstead and Barking. When Carolyn was diagnosed with breast cancer, she worked with a variety of integrated health practitioners to investigate the underlying factors behind her diagnosis, giving her first-hand experience of how simple changes can positively impact on the environment in our bodies.
