We all love a laugh, and the sit-com remains an important and influential vehicle for comedy, whether on the radio or TV.
But how do you create and sustain such comedy gold?
Join comedy legends Sioned Wiliam and Ian Brown as they share their experience and tips for aspiring writers in this hands-on workshop. Who knows, the next big hit may just be around the corner.

Sioned Wiliam comes from Barry. She is the author of the novels, Dal i Fynd, Chwynnu and Cicio’r Bar and has a fourth book Y Gwyliau coming out this Summer. Sioned began her television and radio career at the BBC, before becoming an independent producer. Her credits include Tonight with Jonathan Ross, Game On, Big Train and Yonderland. She also produced iDot and exec produced Rhestr Nadolig Wil for Boom/S4C. She has been nominated for a Bafta award three times and won a British Comedy Award and a Bronze Rose at Montreux for BIG TRAIN in 1999. She has also worked as a Commissioning Editor for ITV and BBC Radio 4.
Ian Brown’s many TV and radio credits include My Family (BBC1), where he became executive producer/head writer (series 5), and writer/show runner on three series of After You’ve Gone (BBC1). Four series of The Break (Absolutely Productions) have been broadcast on BBC radio 4. Other shows he has written for include My Hero, Drop the Dead Donkey, Have I Got News for You, Not the Nine O’clock News, Alas Smith & Jones, The Lenny Henry Show, and Week Ending. He also co-created Dial M for Pizza (two series) and Tales from the Mausoleum Club (two series) for BBC Radio.
