For many local authorities, the three and a half years since the introduction of the SEND reforms have been a challenging period of significant change, set against the backdrop of increased demand and ever-challenging budgets. In many cases, implementation funding has been used to employ additional staff to support and subsidise the new assessment and planning process and for the transfer of existing Statements to EHC Plans. However, this approach cannot be sustainable in the longer term, particularly now with an increased focus on EHCP Reviews.
For the past two years, Idox’s Open Objects has partnered with a number of local authorities to understand the complexities of the challenge.
We would like to invite you to our regional engagement group in Birmingham to discuss:
- New ways of working that support local authorities in meeting statutory obligations more efficiently
- Achieving the SEND Code’s core principle of the child or young person at the heart of everything we do
- Using a digital-first platform to transform the way local authorities support children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and their families
The event is free to attend and is an opportunity for local authorities in the Midlands to come together to share a more connected vision. Lunch will also be provided.
