and Anna aka DJ Sugarlips
We’re welcoming back Chats Palace regulars, The NJE as headliners for our first gig of the autumn. Expect a great evening of new and familiar music with a jazz flavour and special guest, Anna aka DJ Sugarlips.
Stage times to be announced
The NJE consist of multi-instrumentalist Terry Edwards, double bassist Mark Bedford and drummer Simon Charterton - a horn-led trio “with an innate grasp of the jazz impulse and flagrant disregard for musical boxes, often charting genuinely new ground.” Kris Needs (LouderSound.com). Tonight they showcase their new 12-track album Live In London which features performances from their 2021 EFG London Jazz Festival concert. https://thenje.co.uk/
OBTRAM3 is led by Anthony Moore, a British experimental music composer, performer and producer whose songwriting credits include Pink Floyd and Julian Lennon, with notable covers of his work from Paul Young, PP Arnold, The Fall and many others. He was a founding member of Slapp Happy, worked with Henry Cow and has released several excellent solo albums. Anthony's sidemen are Olie Brice (bass) and Tullis Rennie (trombone).https://reflectionsonsound.bandcamp.com/
Alejandra Ribera is a Canadian singer-songwriter, who performs in English, Spanish and French and recently has taken to playing cooking utensils on stage. She was born in Canada, lived in Paris and now calls East London her home.
