This workshop will be combining movement and stillness. We will start the afternoon with Firm Feet's liberating 'Dance in the dark' session with Charlie Boyd. The 65 minute Movement mediation will enable you to let go and get into your body. Followed by a slow and gentle 75 minute 'Restorative Yoga’ class with Fay Qi from Pistachio Tree Yoga.
We'll finish with tea and treats. You're welcome to stay and share.

MOVE & MEDITATE
In darkness, there is no visual stimulation, which allows us to drop deeper into meditation, get out of your mind and into the body. A chance to go inwards and connect deeply with yourself. Dancing can boost your overall happiness, release serotonin and endorphins, balance the mind and body and is a great form of low impact cardiovascular exercise.
Arrive in a warm, lowly-lit, atmospheric and calming environment. There is nothing to learn or follow, it is simply a space to dance. Nobody is watching you. You will be guided into a gentle warm up, breath work and awareness of the body. Then you will be free to drop deep inside and dance. Connect with yourself, be wild and free. After moving we will experience the stillness of our bodies with some soothing sounds and singing bowls. You're welcome to stay and connect with our community for herbal tea and treats.
Dance to deep electronic, experimental, uplifting drumming and ambient music from all over the globe. People often come away feeling reformed, with a deeper conscious connection with nature, self and others. Experience a sense of liberation, purpose and self empowerment.

Firm Feet is run by Charlotte Boyd, combining her experiences and qualifications with movement, integral thinking, macrobiotics and traditional healing systems. Charlie runs Open Movement Meditation classes and holds Body awareness consultations in and around London.

This 75 minute section of workshop offers an opportunity to rest and restore the body and mind. It is a balancing, grounding and uplifting practice at the same time. It is the perfect way to release and unwind from a busy week. This candlelit Restorative Yoga element with Yoga Nidra can bring help to create a deeper relaxation of the body, mind and spirit. It is the perfect way to reset your pace as you prepare for the week ahead.
Restorative yoga consists of supportive poses held for an extended period of time in gentle stillness. Props are used in a creative way to allow muscles to surrender. This enables a deeper relaxation of the body and mind and can facilitate healing.
Faryal offers healing restorative classes with a curious, open and mindful approach. Focusing on holding space to guide students towards their own connections of self through relaxation.
Restorative yoga is slow, gentle and subtle in its approach however it has a deep impact on the body and mind. The liberating experience of restorative yoga helps to heal, create greater awareness of the body and mind and enhance deeper relaxation and calm in an overly stimulating world.
Faryal has gained her Restorative Teacher Training certification from training with Adelene Cheong, who developed her practice through Judith Lasater, an early disciple of B.K.S Iyengar. Judith helped to establish restorative yoga and its development.
Faryal is registered with the International Restorative Yoga Teacher Directory and has completed the Yoga Campus teacher training for chronic fatigue and burnout with Fiona Agombar who pioneered yoga for chronic fatigue.
Faryal has created and collaborated on workshops in London on stress, burnout and fatigue for mental health week and on mindfulness self-compassion.
