This multi-award winning drama is set in 13th century India. Padmavati, a Princess of Sinhala (the modern-day Sri Lanka) falls in love Maharawal Ratan Singh, the King of Chittor, who is already married. Upon their marriage, Padmavati is crowned queen, taking the place of the legal wife and queen consort of Ratan Singh, but they reside together in joy and splendour. Then a Court priest Chetan, banished by the king, approaches the Sultan of Delhi and convinces him to attack Chittor and capture Padmavati to be his bride.
