About Woodland Babies
Dorset Wild Explorers is providing a block of three sessions for babies and their carers. These Woodland Babies sessions are a chance to spend time in the woodland environment and gain ideas for baby friendly, nature inspired activities. This will include things like natural treasure baskets, using senses (smell, touch, sight), sharing nature inspired stories and songs, and simply spending time relaxing in a natural environment. You’ll get to spend three sessions with the same group of parents/carers so it’s also a great chance to make new friends.
The sessions will be on three consecutive Wednesdays 3/10/17 July from 10.30-11.30. The sessions are recommended for babies from 3 months up to walking (for walkers and older we recommend our Woodland Playgroup on Monday mornings).
The sessions will be facilitated by Dorset Wild Explorers’ Kate Mitchell who is a trained Forest School Leader with paediatric and outdoor first aid qualifications. Kate has many years’ experience working in the conservation sector and engaging people with the natural environment. Most importantly Kate is a Mum who has introduced her own daughter to the joys of nature from day one!
The sessions will take place in the Talbot Village Trust owned woodland which are to the south of Talbot Primary School, Talbot Drive (closest postcode is BH12 5ED). Parking is available on nearby roads and a map with location details will be provided. Please note that there are no facilities in the woods so be prepared for nature wees behind a bush if needed!
