About New Treatment Approaches for Complex PTSD
EMDR CentralScotland Regional Group presents:
Professor Ad De Jongh
New Treatment approaches for complex PTSD
In recent years there have been numerous new developments in the application of EMDR therapy. One of the most important developments is perhaps the way in which we can effectively maximize the working memory load for patients suffering from severe forms of PTSD to make EMDR therapy faster. The purpose of this workshop is to gain new inspiration involving the treatment of patients with Complex PTSD and/or with serious psychopathology who display high levels of anxiety and dissociation, and limited treatment effects. Effective new applications that vary from modality-specific working memory-taxing techniques, to destabilizing memories by massive techniques such as the “EMD bomb” will be demonstrated through live demonstrations, and video fragments of treatments in clinical practice. In this workshop participants get the chance to practice with the material themselves.
