About Women Mean Business

We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting our very first, FREE event celebrating Waltham Forest's female business owners this October in collaboration with the Women's Equality Party - Waltham Forest.

You can expect to network with some incredible ladies over drinks, followed by a panel discussion with some of the borough's most inspirational female business owners. They'll be spilling all about their journey so far!

Confirmed Panelists:

Anna Whitehouse - better known as @MotherPukka, journalist, author, and activist. Anna is involved in several projects that are all bounded by a strong dedication to bringing lightness to parenthood. Some of her works include MotherPukka.com – a platform for people who happened to be parents, the Guardian best-selling book ‘Parenting the Sh*t out of Life’ and a TEDx talk raising awareness for flexible working hours following her #FlexAppeal campaign.

Victoria Cozens - Co-founder of East London’s Specialty Coffee Roasters; Perky Blenders. Since starting with her husband, Adam and brother in law, Tom in 2015, she’s played a crucial part in building a brand that’s responsible, friendly and accessible to all. Four years in, Victoria and her Perky Blenders have created 4 cafes, 2 ‘roasteries’, moved all consumables and packaging to eco-friendly-options, rebranded and held talks and training.

Aimée Madill - Aimée decided to fulfil her dreams of opening her very own bookshop after years of working at and managing other people's bookshops in London, Paris and Ireland. While on maternity leave, Aimée began to put her plans together, and now on Francis Road in Leyton, sits Phlox Books, everyone's favourite local bookshop.

Lucy Palmer - Founder of Hair Gain. After Lucy had her first child, she experienced what she has since discovered to be a common phenomenon; hair loss. The only difference is, when lucy was afflicted, she used her extensive background in vitamins and supplements to start researching into what could help restore it. And so hair Gain Was born

Come along on the 10th of October and witness these incredible women telling their stories of how they built their thriving businesses from the ground up.

Drinks and snacks will be provided.
