About Autumn Herbals at Hornbeam! Herbal Vinegars

It's fruit harvest time and the apples are coming in plenty!

So let's get together and make vinegar with the surplus, and then use our vinegar as a base for medicinal herbal remedies to support our health and immune systems going into the winter.

Join our monthly plant medicine session at the Hornbeam with community herbalist Rasheeqa of Hedge Herbs, and for the October edition we welcome a special guest Semra, Walthamstow resident who will show us her method of making vinegar with apples. We will make it together with her so that you learn the process and can do it at home yourselves with the apple (and other fruit) excesses.

Semra will bring vinegar she has already prepared from last month and we will also make two different medicinal herbal vinegars for cooking and health use at home, with locally-grown or gathered herbs. We will learn about the health supporting actions of fermented vinegar and the process of extracting herbs in it, and create a tasty fiery immune tonic for the winter season.

Have fun, make colourful remedies together to take home, share knowledge about plant medicine practices & seasonal healthcare and exchange cultural traditions from the rich mix of Waltham Forest homies.

Will be great if you can bring any apples you have! and aromatic herbs.

Hornbeam Herbals is part of Community Herbal Hands, an E17 project visioning a community healthcare apothecary.
