About London Archaeologist AGM and Annual Lecture 2024 - in person

The London Archaeologist AGM this year will be at the Institute of Archaeology in the Lecture Theatre on Thursday 16 May at 7.00 pm – access from 6.30 pm.

Annual Lecture

Recent excavations near Holborn Viaduct - Alex Blanks

This year Alex Blanks – a Senior Archaeologist with MOLA – will speak about recent excavations near Holborn Viaduct and the unexpected discovery of a Roman funerary bed. This topical lecture will describe the recent discoveries from Holborn and discuss the funerary bed (see opposite).

The AGM proceedings will include the ratification of the post of Secretary. During 2023, Rosalind Morris, London Archaeologist Secretary, resigned and Helen Chittock was co-opted by the Publications Committee (see last issue, 17–03). We will be seeking for her position to be ratified. The Officers of the Committee will then be complete and we also have the full complement of ordinary members for this year, so there are no vacancies on the Publications Committee for 2024.
